ABOUT ABLIE
Ablie is a some what shy and friendly young man who
originally comes from the little village of Sibanor.
Just like may youngsters he was sent to the coastal
area to go to school there. He turned out to be a very
gifted student and his final grades were among the
highest of his whole school! It looked like a golden
future laid ahead of him but due to the frightening
unemployment rate in The Gambia this very intelligent
young man remained unemployed. When also his father
died he took on the care for his mother and siblings.
Ablie had a small job from time to time, which paid
very little but a rewarding steady job was impossible
to land. Because the father of Boy Leigh and the
father of Ablie had been long-time friends both boys
have known each other since childhood.
Boy Leigh was convinced of Ablie's qualities and knew
for sure he would make a very good guide. And so,
after being unemployed for nearly 5 years he landed a
steady job as a guide with boyleigh.com.
As Ablie says himself, it is a dream come true and he
takes immense pleasure from showing his beautiful
country to tourists.
Ablie is a vessel of knowledge about The Gambia and
knows how to convey this in a fun and interesting way
to " his" tourists. In the guestbook you can read
some of the enthusiastic experiences tourists had who
already went on safari with Ablie
